About Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dadethe oldest historical society in South Florida
Welcome to the online home of MP/NOD
The Miami Pioneers began in 1938 as Miami’s first historical society with membership limited to members of families that arrived and settled in South Florida before the great hurricane of September 18, 1926. The Natives of Dade was founded in the early 1970s by a group of people born in Miami-Dade county. The groups merged in 2002 and became the Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade.
