Louise A Garavaglia
Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade member Louise A Garavaglia, devoted mother and friend was born on November 8th, 1928 in Valley Stream New York to Beatrice Quenville Aubry and Emil J Aubry passed away in Miami on November 12, 2021. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Rose, Adrienne Karis and her brother Paul Aubry. Predeceased by her brother Richard Aubry and her infant son Edward. Her husband Tony Garavaglia passed in 1999 and she stayed strong to her last day, always planning on what activity to do next.
Louise came to Miami in the early 1950's to get away from the cold. She loved her garden and was an active member of the Rare Fruit Council, Master Gardeners and volunteered for many years at Fairchild. She was very creative and painted numerous paintings and a large mural of the Everglades on a wall in her home. Loved playing the piano and listening to her music. A woman of strong Catholic faith who always looked for the good in people and life. She will be missed by her family and her friends. Mass with Christian burial has taken place.

The Miami Pioneers is Dade County’s legacy historical organization, originally founded in 1936 by prominent settlers and business leaders who arrived in Miami in the pioneer era before the year 1900. The Natives of Dade was incorporated in 1986 by a group of local history enthusiasts born in Dade County. The groups merged on July 8, 2002.
