|
Did you know that the National Park Service is responsible for managing the largest network of museums in the United States? At over 43 million museum objects and more than 72,000 linear feet of archives, NPS museum collections are a rich resource that are maintained on behalf of the American public. South Florida Collections Management Center archivist Bonnie Ciolino will discuss the legacy of managing NPS collections, and highlight unique collections maintained in order to preserve the history of the National Park Service units in South Florida.
|
Bonnie is responsible for managing the archival collections for the five National Park Service units in the southern portion of Florida. Ms. Ciolino works to provide access points to park service collections, support research related to the south Florida parks, and mentor developing archival professionals. Following completion of her master of arts degree at Texas Tech University, she developed a passion for serving the public as an NPS employee, sharing information about the Everglades region, and about the National Park Service. She is the proud mother of an energetic nine year old and derives the most life satisfaction in creating a meal to share with loved ones.
