| |  | Meting Reminder: Sunday, September 9| The next Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade meeting will be held on Sunday, September 9th at 2:30pm at the Community Room of the Central Christian Church, as usual. |

| Our guest speaker is Christine Rupp, Executive Director of Dade Heritage Trust -- with an update on the many important projects DHT is supporting in the coming year.
|
Christine is responsible for many great programs and events in the community including the Historic Biltmore Tour, Brickell Avenue North Walking Tour, Coconut Grove Bike Tour, the Book & Attic Sale, Dade Heritage Days and much more.

| Dade Heritage Trust’s advocacy program has assisted with the rescue and restoration of many historic venues throughout Miami-Dade County. Working with partner organizations and governments, Dade Heritage Trust has preserved and continues to advocate for responsible development and preservation of our community’s historic resources. |

| | We look forward to a well-attended September 9th meeting, to get our season off to a good start and announce some positive changes coming to our club. |

| | Reminder: Dues are payable in September |  | Please send your annual Dues to our Treasurer There has been confusion in the past about when we pay our annual dues. The answer is September.

| All members are requested to pay their dues in September for the 2018-2019 calendar year. Make plans to attend the September 9th meeting and bring your payment. |

Reminder: Newsletter Postage and Printing Charge |  | | Starting in September 2018, all members, including life members, who wish to receive the printed and mailed version of our newsletter, will have to cover the cost of printing and postage in the amount of $10 a year, paid in advance in September. |

| Member Update: Peter Forrest| MP/NOD member Peter Forrest is resting comfortably at The Residence United Home Care facility at 9355 SW 158th Avenue, room 107. His phone number is 786-878-5140 x8407. Peter always gathered books of historical interest for our annual raffle at the Installation Luncheon. We miss him and hope to see him again at a meeting soon. |

 | Recording Secretary Barbara Koesy will be leading the telephone committee, along with Corresponding Secretary Mary Pyle and member Pat Ware, to reach out to all our members to remind them of upcoming meetings.
