MPNOD- Miami Pioneers and NAtives of Dade historical society
Hello MPNOD member,
Here is a fresh update from the Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade Historical Society
website: mpnod.org • Facebook: facebook.com/MPNOD/

Thank You One And All!

The members of the Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade are sending out a big Thank You to everyone involved in making our last meeting a big success.

Thanks to our guest speaker, Eliot Kleinberg, for a wonderful presentation on the importance being a Floridian and some interesting facts about our state. His books also garnered a lot of attention, and we look forward to having him back in the future.

Thanks to all our volunteer members who made the event run smoothly. It's great to see the camaraderie among members pitching in to help with refreshments, signing people in, greeting our new members and guests. We had 11 new guests. I think that's the most we've seen at a single meeting in a long time.

It was nice to see our dear friends like historians Arva Parks and Howard Kleinberg, and former Miami mayor Maurice Ferrer in attendance.

Thanks especially to John Allen and Malcolm Lauredo at the Coral Gables Museum for their support and assistance in hosting our meetings at this fine location.

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, March 3rd at 2pm at the museum.

Resignation of Seth Bramson

On behalf of the board of directors, we extend our thanks to former president Seth Bramson for all his time and dedication in helping our group in the past five months. Seth announced his resignation as our president to spend more time with his Miami Memorabilia group, who will return to meeting at Denny's as they had for many years.

Monthly Meetings at Museum

The Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade invite all with an interest in local history to join us at the Coral Gables Museum community room on the first Sunday of each month (except July and August) from 2 to 4pm.
